Return To Vietnam
The last American soldiers left Vietnam in 1973. It was not the happy time there but some of them want to come back once and in March, we hosted one of them.
After more than 40 years, this veteran had the chance to revisit Bien Hoa airbase where he stationed from 1967 to 1968. In the army, he was the pilot of the Lockheed C-130 military transport aircartt.
He has been waiting and excited about this trip for years so we arranged a special guide to escort him. Our guide- Tony was a Vietnamese sergeant (he worked as translator) of the 1st Cavalry Division of USA during Vietnam war. Our veteran guide knows all the places where the American used to base in the war so he not only showed the veteran the former airbase (now is the military station of Vietnamese army) but around Bien Hoa city.
They spent almost a day there to visit the former airbase, local market and Bien Hoa museum before coming back to Saigon
This location used to be one of two gates of airbase
