Prepare for adventure! We tour today by restored Vintage Jeep to discover West Baray and some of the many hidden temples and ruins that are scattered in this area. This land is ancient, there seems to be some remnant of the past, around every corner.

We start the day by visiting the beautiful Baray-side Pagoda of Wat Svay Romeat where our guide can share a little information about Khmer Buddhism and how it affects daily life. Then we continue along dirt roads, a favorite for our Jeeps, that surround the stunning Baray - stopping now and then to appreciate the scale of this manmade construction - it’s utterly breathtaking. West Baray is also a very popular Khmer picnic spot and can be quite busy on weekends, but our team always knows the best places to stop and enjoy.

There are so many small ruins scattered around in this area and we have explored them all, and chosen the best and most unique for you. We are not here for spectacular temples, but more the adventure, atmosphere and natural beauty of the area.

One of the absolute highlights of today is the stunning and ancient Spean Memay, or Memay Bridge - comprising 21 arches and measuring 79 meters long and 9 meters wide. The bridge appears to be in the middle of nowhere, but at one time it was a part of the Ancient Highway or Kings road that ran through the Khmer Kingdom and all the way to Thailand and played a very important part in the expansion of the Empire.

You will feel like Indiana Jones by the end of this adventure and you may not see another tourist until you get back to Siem Reap town.
